9 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SPIED DUKE 390 AND SPECULATED ADVENTURE MODEL.

While other companies are only thinking to match the "Price to Performance ratio" of Duke390, spy shots in Spain shows the Austrian-Indian manufacturer already began testing the Updated Duke which by engine size seems Duke 390. Chassis ,suspension and swingarm looks the same but what all will make the package more tempting?? lets see in detail-

1. As with 2016 RC390 ( International version) , the major visual change in the 390 is a conventional exhaust system. 2017 Euro 4 strict regulations caused this change that might bump the power from 43bhp and produce a better exhaust sound too!! Fingers crossed for that!! This revised setup for emission norm will reduce emissions and can make the bike more fuel efficient.

2. Other visual bits include a revised tail unit with aluminium number plate hanger rather than plastic one of outgoing model and possibly new tail light which reminds of the Yamaha M-Slaz. Anyone??

3. Notice integrated grab rails which are neatly integrated under the new pillion perch which looks a bit larger than before hopefully improving comfort as well.

4. The disc setup looks like its taken from 2016 RC390 with 320mm rotor and Bybre calliper which is said to be developed under Brembo (BYBRE- By Brembo) so it promises to be lot better than before and hopefully will solve the intrusive ABS problem too.

5.  The sides of tank include angular extensions which make the engine more exposed and it looks like the legroom has increased providing much better thigh grip to taller riders who found the older version cramped. The raised tank will force a greedy mind to expect more tank capacity too!!!

6. Lastly the BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT is said to include a second balancer shaft inside the cylinder head which can give the single cylinder twin kind of smoothness and improve the low rpm response too as it proved earlier in 2015 Duke 690
Now that are a lot of promises to believe but if KTM manages to incorporate all these changes effectively then we will have yet another winner in our hands to demolish the upcoming competition. Expect the prices to increase a bit but hope it will worth the increase.

7. Another speculation raised a lot of expectations to introduce Adventure Tourer Style KTM 390 to the market as well. Now, as internationally 390 is an entry level bike so chances of a Adventure model is highly unlikely.

8. Firstly ,390 is not by any means a highway bike by international standards as the highway cruising speeds are more than India so making an Adventure model out of that mill is not feasible.


9. Secondly KTM make all models for the whole world market, so a model just for India isnt happening in near future. Bajaj is listening though so expect AS400 earlier than KTM one.
